The annual cost for a full-time senior data engineer is around $200k + benefits (add 50% more if you hire an individual contractor, or 100% more for agency staff). Additionally, you may not have enough work to keep them delivering value at all times, so you’re paying for un-utilised time.

Not at all. Once subscribed, you can make as many requests as you need; then they will be delivered one at a time.

Most of the time, requests are completed in roughly two days (more complex requests can take longer, but we will provide updated notes along the way).

This is an agency of just me, the founder of Data Karate! This is what I live and breathe for 🙂 (At times however, more complex requests may need additional support for which you will be kept in the loop).

For periods of time where you don’t have enough data engineering work, simply click pause on your account page.

Any portion of the month (based on 30 days) that is unused when paused will be redeemable as soon as you re-commence the subscription. (For example, if you pause after 10 days into a monthly cycle, then you have 20 days remaining upon re-commencement.)

• SQL (templated where necessary) for database extraction and storage.
• GitHub for code versioning and solution deployment – I will provide this!
• Google Docs and draw.io for architecture and strategy documents.
• Cloud services are as you provide wherever needed – (e.g. you would provide AWS, Google Cloud, Azure developer access).
• Shell scripts, yaml configs, dockerfiles etc for code packaging and deployment wherever needed.

There is plenty of flexibility in how you make requests over Trello; either directly from Trello (via our helpful data engineering task templates), links to your documents. Or perhaps you may wish to record a video instead of typing using a tool like https://www.loom.com/. Whatever method you prefer, it just needs to be linked to the Trello card.

That’s completely fine, we’ll make as many adjustments as you need! At times, the detail in the Trello card may need further detail, however solutions can also be worked through making assumptions where necessary. And if we start with a clear data strategy and architecture, we can shorten the time to value.

Data Karate does not cover: web design and development, app development and complete solutions built outside of Python. Cloud services are included where necessary however the cloud environment must be provided – e.g. access to data processing, storage or orchestration services.
